Bulacan 101-The province boasts of having more than a hundred resort destinations. Located just in the outskirts of the metropolis, the province is practical destination for short-term vacations, especially during weekends. The province's resorts are priced affordably and are ideal for group outings.

Recently, the Provincial Tourism Council has embarked on a serious campaign to boost the province's viability as an attractive destination for local tourists. The Bulacan Association of Resort Owners (BARO) was formed in 1995 under the leadership of then Gov. Josie M. dela Cruz and Senior Tourism Operations Officer, Ms. Amelia M. Aquino. Its first president was Enrico Valenzuela, of the famed Café Valenzuela Resort. He wass succeeded by Jose Clemente of Ciudad Clementino in Paombong. Pupularly known as "JOECLEM", he embarked on an immense promotion and marketing program for Bulacan resorts. Jade Santiago-Reantaso of DJ Paradise continued the programs initiated by her predecessors, when she took over the leadership in 2001. Crispin Kabiling and Malolos Club Royale Resort and Hotel is its new and very active President. Today, BARO is raring for the spotlight in the local tourism scene. At the helm with Cris Kabiling are Vice-President Alex Villangca (8 Waves Waterpark & Hotel), Secretary Christian Santos (San Miguel Leisure Park), Treasurer Rose Gatchalian (Pulilan Riverview Resort) and PRO Albert Aguirre (Long Meadows Resort).

So far, the BARO has spearheaded a series of activities aimed at strengthening Bulacan's position as a local tourism hotspot.
